New IT products in the Armenian Market

Six Armenian IT companies and the Union of IT Enterprises shared one stand at the CeBIT Hannover IT Fair 2007.
CeBIT IT Fair in Germany led to collaboration of Armenian IT businesses with IT companies from other countries

Mr. Aslanyan, President of Smart Systems, signed contracts with two foreign hardware producers for importing Skype phones and trade development equipment such as bar-code readers, antitheft equipment and metal detectors.

Six representatives of the Armenia IT sector presented their products at the CeBIT World Trade Fair for Information and Communications Technology, the world’s largest IT trade fair, held in Hannover Germany in March 2007. The Armenian companies sought international clients for their products, and sought to establish partnerships with foreign companies. Mr. Stepan Aslanyan, the President and Director of Smart Systems LLC, a software development company established in 2003, signed contracts with IPEVO (Internet devices producer) from Taiwan and Shtrix-M (trade equipment producer and POS (point of sell) equipment) from Russia.

After the trade fair, as Smart Systems is a software development company, Mr. Aslanyan established and registered a new company (Smart Trading) for hardware and software import.

Through the contract with IPEVO, Smart Trading is now importing Skype USB Handsets with and without LCD display, off-PC Skype desktop phones and Skype conference phones – all relatively new in the Armenian market.

Through Shtrix-M, Smart Trading is importing bar-code readers and antitheft equipment for stores. Smart Trading can now provide full-service packages to its clients, including the imported trade development hardware and the trade and POS software solutions developed by Smart Systems. The potential customers are trade companies (for example, shops, bars and restaurants).
