Training on Youth and Politics was designed to offer 10 Youth NGO leaders from Armenia with an opportunity to meet with counterparts in Macedonia. This afforded the participants the opportunity to learn from, build relationships with, and become part of a network of youth leaders. Macedonia has recently incorporated into its national strategic plan a distinct set of youth initiatives and goals and thus was a good example to introduce to the participants. more... |  |
22 Young People Choose Hospitality Industry for Their Future Careers
In September 2006 the American Hotel and Lodging Association conducted a very interesting training program for the hospitality service providers. Twenty three supervisors from 18 hotels and restaurants from Yerevan and other cities of Armenia participated in it. The program objectives were to provide necessary skills and knowledge to the supervisors to meet management's objectives for productivity and quality guest services, gain respect, trust, and support from the people who work for them, improve employee communication and performance, increase employee motivation. more... |  |
Commentaries to the Code of Judicial Conduct
In November 2006, a one-week study tour for 10 participants, including members of the working group on developing Commentaries to the Code of Judicial Conduct, was organized to Prague, Czech Republic.
In studying the Czech and Slovakia experience, participants focused on (1) procedures for handling complaints, (2) judicial standards for ethical behavior, and (3) how to conduct a public awareness campaign on the complaint mechanisms.

Promoting Citizenship Through Education
Youth participation is an integral part of democracy. Civically active young people can play an important role in enhancing government accountability and responsiveness to citizens’ needs. To increase exposure of such promising young Armenians to international youth networks, AED selected eight Armenian NGO representatives to attend the Zabinki International Student Camp in Poland. The goal of the camp, established in 2002, is to create an international community of young people and give them the chance to meet with other people to learn new skills and understand cultural diversity. more... |
