The French system, CARPA, a fund for financial proceeds, is launched in Armenia.

The Academy for Educational Development, through USAID’s Human and Institutional Capacity Development project, organized a study tour to France focused on Advocates Discipline and Ethics. The purpose of the study tour was to provide the members of the Board and the Disciplinary Committee of the RA Chamber of Advocates with information to develop procedures and documents, including legal acts and forms, necessary to improve functions of the Disciplinary Committee of the Chamber of Advocates. Training Inspires Journalist

Young journalism trainer Suren Deheryan is open to the use of innovative methodologies in journalism education in Armenia. As a graduate of the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management (CSJMM) in Tbilisi and a lecturer at the ground-breaking Armenian School of Journalism, he has experienced modern journalism teaching methods both as a student and a teacher. An Investigative Journalist Establishes an Association

Ms. Armenuhi Ghukasyan, a reporter for the local 70-year old Sevan newspaper, was one of eight Armenians to participate in a study tour on investigation journalism in February 2009. Ms. Ghukasyan and other Armenian investigative journalists met with top Chicago-area journalists to learn from their experience and discuss the challenges posed by investigative reporting. more...
Armenia and Russia Work Together to Improve Water Quality Monitoring

In 2005 an inductively coupled plasma spectrometer was purchased for the Environmental Impact Monitoring Center of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection. Funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) covered the cost of the equipment. The inductively coupled plasma spectrometer is an important piece of equipment for Armenia because it has the ability to detect chemical elements in water. more...
USAID Funds Armenia’s Participation in 5th World Water Forum

Three Armenian representatives participated in the 5th World Water Forum held in Istanbul, Turkey on March 16-22, 2009. Alfred Nersisyan (Head of the Water Resources Management Agency of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection), Bardukh Gabrielyan (a board member of the “Ecological Survival”), and Christine Hovhannisyan (member of the “Protection of Consumer Rights” NGO) were selected to represent Armenia in the week long forum.
